Hi Everyone!

I’m Kira. One of the Crossfit trainers at 1401 Athletics, and now the on-team Nutrition Coach. Here’s a little about me. If I sound funny, it’s because I’m from Barbados and moved to the USA from Australia in 2021.  I’ve been on my own fitness and more recently, nutrition journey, for a few years. Before Crossfit my main form of exercise was running, and they are both hobbies that turned into passions. I’ve been doing Crossfit since 2015 and competitively since about 2019.

Coming into some really competitive experiences, I turned my focus to nutrition to help improve my performance. After years of, lets be fair, not a great relationship with food, I asked for help and got my own nutrition coach in 2019 and never looked back. Asking for help with nutrition was one of the best decisions I made. From developing good habits, realizing what was supporting/not supporting my goals and having someone hold me accountable changed my approach to performance AND allowed me to develop a much healthier relationship with food.

And that drove me to where I am now – getting my Crossfit Level 1 trainer certificate and my Nutrition Coaching Certificate through Precision Nutrition, and now I’m ready to help you guys set and move towards your goals. So please reach out and lets have a chat about teaming up 😊

Scope of Practice

As a nutrition coach – Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified I will help clients 

  • Build the skills and practices to support healthy habits and goals such as habit forming and development, weight loss/gain and improved performance. 
  • Individualise and apply these principles with your specific daily actions. 
  • Provide resources to support your goals and work with health care providers where necessary
  • Help develop habits and menus WITH clients around health provider recommendations

I will not be able to– 

  • Tell or prescribe clients what to eat or do specific daily meal plans/menus. 
  • Provide Medical advice
  • Provide Psychological advice 
  • Treat any medical or underlying conditions
  • Prescribe supplementation or advice on prescription medication
  • Provide exercise programs

I focus on long term and sustainable results. As someone who has ‘been there’ with the quick fixes and yo yos, I want to offer clients a safe place to develop the resilience and ownership of their choices and goals. And, of course, to watch them succeed. 

With me you will work 1:1 online or face to face to get you where you want to be, even if it takes some pathfinding on the way. You will get weekly checkins and access to a platform for both us to work in that keeps your information safe and the ideas flowing.

What I expect is a commitment to TRY. To be open to learn about yourself and commit to the process.
